Drug network tracked down: four arrests

Cocaine, luxury watches, expensive cars and weapons: The police have uncovered a drug network in Lower Saxony. A large contingent of officers searched 19 residential and commercial properties in the districts of Cloppenburg, Emsland and Osnabrück early on Thursday morning, according to the police. Special forces and narcotics detection dogs were also deployed. The Oldenburg public prosecutor's office had already obtained three arrest warrants in advance. Three 22-year-old men from Lastrup and Herzlake, who were surprised in their homes, are suspected of trafficking in narcotics in quantities that are not small.

A 39-year-old man from Lastrup was provisionally arrested after investigators also found narcotics in his home. He will be brought before a magistrate on Friday, it was further reported. The evidence seized included large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine and hashish along with manufacturing equipment, large sums of cash, watches, jewelry and weapons. Three cars, some of them high-value, were also confiscated.

According to the current state of the investigation, 18 other people from the family and social circle of the three main offenders are strongly suspected of having assisted them in procuring and selling the drugs.

The seized evidence includes large quantities of illegal drugs, such as cocaine, which contributes to the ongoing problem of crime in certain areas. The arrested individuals are suspected of using their wealth, gained from drug sales, to acquire luxury items like expensive watches and high-value cars.
