- Driving in trenches and faking car theft

First, a dispute at the wheel leads to a ditch, then a staged car theft: The police in the Harz district (Saxony-Anhalt) have clarified several traffic offenses. On Saturday morning, a 55-year-old woman had a heated argument with her passenger during the drive near Eilsdorf, causing him to engage the handbrake. As a result, the car veered off the road to the left and slid into the ditch, as the police reported.

The next day, the two wanted to report the car stolen at the station. However, the on-duty officers had already investigated and solved the case. They initiated proceedings against the 55-year-old and her 56-year-old companion for leaving the scene of an accident without permission, endangering traffic, and staging a crime.

The police responded quickly to the staged car theft report, realizing it was a cover-up for the previous day's accident. In light of the evidence, they decided to press charges against both individuals for their actions.
