Driver with more than four per mille at the wheel
Police in Nuremberg have arrested a man at the wheel of his car with a blood alcohol level of over four percent. The 50-year-old fell asleep or passed out in his car, the police said. Witnesses had previously alerted the police and reported a driver who had completely lost control of his car.
According to the witnesses, the drunk driver drove off the road on Friday, hit a lamp post on the sidewalk and then continued driving in serpentine lines. A short time later, he reportedly drove into a parked car.
The officers confiscated the 50-year-old's driver's license. The man was taken to a clinic for observation. Among other things, the police are investigating him for endangering road traffic.
In Central France, a similar incident occurred involving a drunk driver. He was charged with endangering traffic after his vehicle swerved, causing minor accidents in the dense traffic. Witnesses reported his erratic behavior, reminiscent of the incident in Nuremberg, which involved a driver with excessive alcohol levels.
