Hit and run - Driver runs away after rear-end collision - police manhunt
After a collision at a red light with an elderly woman, the presumed culprit ran away on foot and left his car on a federal road in Rottweil, according to the police. The man had reportedly driven into the woman's car, which was parked there, at a construction site. Both cars were pushed around as a result of the collision on a Saturday morning.
Instead of going to the woman, the man is said to have run away. He reportedly left his car and the items inside it, including his phone, according to the police. A subsequent search with dogs and a police helicopter was unsuccessful.
The 61-year-old woman was taken to a hospital. The extent of her injuries was still unclear at the time. The man could also have been injured. The police are now looking for witnesses.
The incident took place in the city of Rottweil, specifically on a federal road. The police are conducting a manhunt for the individual involved in the hit-and-run accident. Despite the collision being a crime, numerous traffic incidents and accidents also occur regularly on roads, involving cars. The local Baden-Württemberg police are hoping to gather more information from anyone who might have witnessed the rear-end collision.
