Rhin-Lahn-District - Driver overlooks motorcyclist - Biker dies
At an accident on the Bundesstraße 42 in Kaub (Rhineland-Hessian-District), a 34-year-old motorcycle rider died in the afternoon. According to the police report, a car driver failed to notice the biker as he was maneuvering his car back into traffic from a parking lot.
His vehicle caught fire after the crash, but three people were able to get out of it in time and only suffered light injuries, the police in Montabaur stated. However, help was too late for the motorcycle rider. He had already passed away at the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred near the Rhine, close to the Quay in Kaub. The Federal road 42, where the incident took place, is known for its heavy traffic. Despite the fatal incident, local authorities in Rhineland-Palatinate are calling for increased traffic safety measures.
