Traffic accidents - Driver crashes into tree and is seriously injured
A driver has crashed his car into a tree in Großenkneten in the district of Oldenburg and was seriously injured. The 43-year-old drove off the road to the right on a straight stretch of road, police said on Saturday. There he ran over a delineator and a traffic sign. In the following slight left-hand bend, he finally crashed into a tree.
He was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital on Friday evening. According to the police, it is suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, so his driver's license was confiscated and a blood sample taken. Criminal proceedings were also initiated.
