Northeim - Driver crashes into bus in oncoming traffic and dies
A driver has died in a head-on collision with a bus in the Northeim district. The 47-year-old drove into oncoming traffic on Thursday morning for unknown reasons and crashed into the bus, according to the police. The accident occurred on the B64 federal highway west of Bad Gandersheim in southern Lower Saxony.
The driver died at the scene of the accident, according to the statement. The 35-year-old bus driver and two passengers were slightly injured and taken to hospital. Two other people on the bus were uninjured. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy after the accident. The main road was closed for several hours.
