Drexler and Kabadayi will miss Schalke until the end of the year
FC Schalke 04 will be without midfielder Dominick Drexler and attacker Yusuf Kabadayi until the end of the year. Drexler suffered a small muscle fiber tear in the Gelsenkirchen side's 5-3 defeat at Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday, as the Gelsenkirchen side announced on Tuesday. Kabadayi had already abandoned the warm-up in Düsseldorf due to injury. The 19-year-old was also diagnosed with a torn muscle fiber.
Schalke still have three competitive matches to play this year. On Friday, the 16th-placed team in the table will host bottom-of-the-table VfL Osnabrück.
Despite the injuries to Drexler and Kabadayi, FC Schalke 04 will continue their campaign in Bundesliga 2. Regrettably, the absence of both midfieler and attacker will extend until the end of the year, potentially affecting their matches against VfL Osnabrück in the Bundesliga 2.
