Third-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden has snagged midfielder Vinko Sapina from rival Rot-Weiss Essen. The Saxons made the announcement on Thursday. The 28-year-old used to call RWE home and played 29 matches with three goals last year, also serving as team captain.

Sapina shared his excitement on joining the storied club, commenting, "As a growing footballer, you yearn to play for historic teams and be adored by large crowds. I'm even more eager for the matches and hope to aid in the club's aspirational targets." He's the sixth new player to join Dynamo for the upcoming season.
