Dresdeners earn the most on average in Saxony

In Saxony, employees in Dresden earn the most on average. According to the State Statistical Office on Tuesday, the average salary in Dresden was 37,661 euros. In Leipzig (36,438 euros) and Chemnitz (34,139 euros), gross wages were still above the state average. In Saxony, the average wage was €33,466 in 2021, which is an increase of around €1,000 compared to 2020. Compared to 400 other cities in Germany, Saxony's frontrunner Dresden is only in 97th place nationwide, according to the statisticians.

The high average salary in Dresden can be attributed to its strong labor market statistics. This data suggests that the labor market in Dresden is conducive to higher earnings, thereby contributing to improved living standards.
