Bundesliga - Dresden volleyball players sign Victoria Demidova

Dresdner SC, a volleyball team in the German Bundesliga, announced another new signing for the upcoming season. The six-time German champion signed Russian outside hitter Victoria Demidova. The 18-year-old will transfer from Turkish first division team Besiktas Ayos to the Elbe and signed a one-year contract.

"I was impressed by Victoria when I watched games of the Turkish League last season. She is a very talented young outside hitter. Tall, with good physique. Certainly, she will have a lot to learn, but her potential is promising. Moreover, I was impressed by her determination and ambition," said DSC trainer Alexander Waibl.

The native of Moscow is the seventh new signing for the Dresdner women after Emma Clothier (USA), two Slovenian national players Eva Zatkovic and Lorena Lorber Fijok, DSC returnee Patricia Nestler, Swiss national player Julie Lengweiler, and Latvian national player Marta Levinska.

  1. Victoria Demidova, the new addition to Dresdner SC, has experience playing volleyball in the Turkish first division with Besiktas Ayos.
  2. Despite being from Saxony, Germany, Dresden's trainer Alexander Waibl was impressed by Demidova's performances in the Bundesliga's equivalent in Turkey.
  3. Aside from signing Russian outside hitter Victoria Demidova, Dresdner SC has also recruited six other players for the upcoming women's volleyball season in the Bundesliga.
  4. Demidova will be joining other talented players, including Emma Clothier from the USA, in the women's volleyball team in Dresden, which will be competing in the Bundesliga along the Elbe.
