DRC: Relatively few entries at Nature One Festival

Alternatively, up to 50,000 people are expected at the Nature One festival. Adverse weather conditions result in fewer visitors. However, the German Red Cross still has plenty to do but is satisfied.

- DRC: Relatively few entries at Nature One Festival

After the first night at the Techno Festival Nature One in Kastellaun (Rhin-Hunsrück district), the German Red Cross (DRK) has drawn a satisfactory interim balance. A total of 220 personnel attended to 820 people seeking help at the Medical Center on the festival grounds, which were visited by 40,000 people. Compared to previous years, there were fewer incidents, which may be due to the reduced number of guests.

Due to heavy rainfall, many areas on the grounds are flooded and muddy. Measures taken by the festival management to stabilize the paths with excavators and gravel did not have the desired effect. The campsite remains closed to new arrivals. The organizers estimate that there are 20 percent fewer visitors.

According to the DRK, the paramedics were mostly called for minor foot injuries, small wounds, or insect bites. There were also a few cases of circulatory problems. For 23 people, the festival ended with further treatment in the hospital.

"We are pleased that the festival-goers were careful on the slippery surfaces and that there were no serious injuries. The atmosphere among the visitors was, as always, peaceful and cheerful," said Philipp Köhler, spokesperson for the DRK Nature One. The DRK is present at the festival with 775 volunteer paramedics from four federal states.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, the Festival continued to attract a substantial crowd. The anticipated decrease in visitors due to the muddy grounds and closed campsite didn't deter people from enjoying the remaining days of the Festival.
