Approximately 50 to 60 breeding pigeons perished in a fire in Wolgast (district of Vorpommern-Greifswald). The fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning for unknown reasons in a garden with a hut and a pigeon coop, police reported. Upon arrival, the attached pigeon coop was on fire. Firefighters reportedly saved around 20 animals, which were taken over by animal rescue. According to police, the garden hut also caught fire and was no longer usable.

The intense flames devastated the pigeon coop, unfortunately leading to the loss of many beloved birds. Despite the efforts of firefighters, the garden hut was completely consumed by the fire, leaving nothing but smoldering embers.
