Downing Street welcomes a new contender in the feline realm, challenging Larry's dominance.

It's been over a decade now that Larry, the 17-year-old feline, has been residing at 10 Downing Street, serving as the "Chief Mouser" to the British Prime Minister. On a recent Tuesday, Larry made it clear who was boss with a bold statement on his Twitter account @Number10cat - "Universal rule: The catobe will answer to Larry, the catobe." Larry was initially brought in from an animal shelter to deal with the mouse problem, but his effectiveness is debated, with former PM David Cameron labeling him a media sensation. In his 13-year career, Larry has witnessed six different prime ministers come and go.

The Starmer clan brought their cat, Jojo, along when they moved into Downing Street last July. In an interview with the BBC, the prime minister admitted that managing pets in such a high-security residence is no walk in the park. The main challenge, as he put it, is the "impregnable" door that leads out of the apartment, making it difficult to install a cat flap.

Keir Starmer, the current British Prime Minister, mentioned the challenges of having pets in Downing Street, specifically the difficulty of installing a cat flap due to a "impregnable" door. Despite this, Keir Stirmer's family brought their cat, Jojo, to reside at 10 Downing Street.
