Crime - Doctor from Duderstadt arrested in Switzerland
A doctor from Duderstadt has been arrested in Switzerland on the basis of a European arrest warrant. As confirmed by the Göttingen public prosecutor's office, the woman was handed over to the German authorities by the Swiss judiciary in Constance. She has been charged with false medical certificates for exemption from the mask requirement at the Duderstadt district court, according to Andreas Buick, spokesman for the authorities. The "Göttinger Tageblatt" had previously reported.
It is still unclear what will happen to the doctor after her arrest, Buick said. According to the public prosecutor's office, it is possible that she will initially be released after paying bail and other conditions until a possible trial. Several investigations had been initiated against the woman in connection with the coronavirus measures.
