Dismissal dispute: Hertha makes Bobic an offer for an agreement
Second division soccer club Hertha BSC has made former managing director Fredi Bobic an offer for an out-of-court settlement in the dispute over his dismissal, according to the club. "We can confirm that Hertha BSC has submitted a fair and viable offer to Fredi Bobic's legal representatives in line with the contractual framework conditions to comprehensively end the legal disputes surrounding his former employment at Hertha BSC," Hertha announced on Friday in response to a query from the German Press Agency. The "Bild" newspaper first reported the news.
The capital city club did not provide any further details. Bobic did not comment when asked. The former Bundesliga club parted ways with its sports director at the end of January. The 52-year-old is taking legal action against his dismissal. The case is to be heard by the Berlin Regional Court on February 19, 2024. The legal disputes involve large sums of money. The struggling second division club is on a strict cost-cutting course.
In addition, there are proceedings initiated by Bobic concerning the possible enforcement of a writ of execution against Hertha. According to reports, the capital city club has not paid Bobic's salary since he was dismissed without notice in February. If Bobic receives the enforcement order, Hertha would have to pay the manager's salary, which has been frozen since February.
Despite the ongoing legal disputes, Fredi Bobic expresses his interest in returning to Bundesliga 2's Hertha BSC, expressing his passion for the game of Soccer. Regardless of the court hearing scheduled for February 2024, the financial processes related to Bobic's unpaid salary in Bundesliga 2's Bundesliga 2 club, Hertha BSC, remain a concern.
