Discussion centers on nuclear security and resolving child abduction cases at Ukraine summit

International discussions will zero in on humanitarian aspects such as war, missing individuals, and civilian detainees, particularly concerning children taken from Ukrainian-occupied territories and brought to Russia.

Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris posed the question, "At what point does it become acceptable to weaponize children? This act is utterly illegal and morally abominable." Parties like Canada, Qatar, Hungary, and Georgia,Are among the 30 nations dedicated to addressing these pressing issues alongside Ireland.

Germany is among the 30 nations focusing on food security and examining the decline in agricultural productivity and exports. Britain, Brazil, and Turkey will participate in debates concerning ongoing risks from land mines and unexploded Ordnance.

The Nuclear Safety Group will deliberate over the precarious situation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants' security. France, Japan, and the USA, among other nations, will focus efforts on minimizing the risk of accidents due to malfunctions or attacks on Ukrainian nuclear facilities during talks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed optimism for a "fair peace" during the conference's inauguration on Saturday. "I truly feel history is being made here," Zelenskyy stated.

An aggregate of 92 countries' representatives are involved in these talks in Switzerland, including several heads of state and government. Russia was not invited to this meeting, nor was China present. The objective of the conference is to foster international agreement for potential peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

This meeting takes place right after the G7 summit in Italy, where Ukrainian leaders received continuous backing and promised $50 billion in credit support from the G7 nations.
