In the small town of Ostritz, situated in eastern Saxony, a WWII bomb was successfully defused by specialists. This allowed the residents, who had been evacuated, to come back to their homes on Tuesday night. The bomb, weighing roughly 100 kg, was found during roadwork on Bundesstraße 99.

The bomb's discovery resulted in the evacuation of roughly 200 people within a 600 meter radius. The experts handling the defusing process successfully rendered the bomb harmless. After their work was done, the police reported that air, road, and rail traffic was once again permitted.
