German director Tom Tykwer ("Babylon Berlin", "Run Lola Run") has shot a movie again after a long time. Shooting on Tykwer's new production entitled "The Light" ends this week, as PR agency Just Publicity announced on Thursday. The drama starring actor Lars Eidinger is due to be released in cinemas in October 2024. Eidinger and actress Nicolette Krebitz play a couple whose family reunites when they take in a Syrian immigrant as a housekeeper.

Tykwer has written and directed the crime series "Babylon Berlin" for four seasons. "After quite a long time spent in the roaring 20s with "Babylon Berlin", I can finally turn my attention back to our present," said the 58-year-old about his new film. The film was shot in Berlin and the surrounding area, NRW and Kenya.
