In the jurisdictions of Cochem, Mayen, and St. Goar, as well as throughout Rhineland-Palatinate, the electronic file system has been integrated. As a result, all ordinary courts in this region now manage their cases digitally, according to a statement from the Mainz Department of Justice.

Justice Minister Herbert Mertin (FDP) explained, "Starting today, all civil, familial, and guardianship cases handled by Rhineland-Palatinate courts will be managed digitally." This shift will not only boost the efficiency of Rhineland-Palatinate's judicial system but also encourages advancements in work practices, making it a more alluring choice for potential employers within the legal field.

Already in 2020, finance courts and administrative courts had transitioned to an electronic file system. The conversion process is still ongoing for labor and social courts.

In the context of Rhineland-Palatinate, Cochem falls under the jurisdiction where all ordinary courts manage their cases digitally due to the integrated electronic file system. This digital transition also applies to civil, familial, and guardianship cases in Cochem, as mentioned by Justice Minister Herbert Mertin.
