DFB women with dolls and without shoulders against Spain

With captain Alexandra Popp back, but without striker Lea Schüller, Germany's women's football team takes on Spain in the bronze medal match at the Olympics. Popp missed the semi-final against the USA (0:1) due to an infection, as did Schüller, who has been dealing with a patellar tendon inflammation for some time. The Munich player is on the bench at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon.

Sarai Linder returns to the starting lineup for the first time since the opening group game against Australia (3:0), having been ill in between. Sydney Lohmann is out due to an infection ahead of the game against the Spanish world champions. Regularly injured defender Marina Hegering starts in the team of outgoing coach Horst Hrubesch.

Despite her illness, Sarai Linder returns to the starting lineup for Germany, replacing the absent Sydney Lohmann due to an infection. In spite of her ongoing patellar tendon inflammation, Lea Schüller remains on the bench for the crucial bronze medal match against Spain.
