Known as the "father of first-person shooters", with over 130 games to his name, including DOOM, Wolfenstein 3D, and Quake, John Romero is a true icon in the industry. At DevGAMM, Romero’s diving into the story behind DOOM in his keynote “DOOM: The Game That Changed Games”, sharing rare footage, behind-the-scenes stories, and all the highs and lows of creating a game that changed the industry forever.
Apart from the keynote speech, there will be a Meet & Greet with John Romero, where he’ll be signing copies of his new autobiography DOOM Guy.
Attendees can also look forward to great panel discussions, such as “Next-Gen Brazil: Unlocking the Future of Your Game Business” with local games business specialists and representatives of gamescom LATAM, numerous workshops ranging from go-to-market strategies, character crafting and technical assessments to tips for freelance work in the gaming industry. The recently added Speed Networking will allow attendees to quickly introduce themselves to as many people as possible. The DevGAMM Awards is a prestigious game developers competition aimed to celebrate and recognize excellence in games.
