Deutsche Bahn announces massive restrictions for Hamburg S-Bahn
Due to the warning strike by train drivers, Deutsche Bahn is warning of massive restrictions on Hamburg S-Bahn services. There will be train cancellations on all lines from 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and services will be suspended from 10 p.m. onwards. On Thursday, the S-Bahn will try to operate according to an emergency timetable. Trains will run on the lines S1 Wedel - Airport/Ohlsdorf - Poppenbüttel, S3 Pinneberg-Neugraben and S21 between Aumühle and Altona, but not at the usual frequency. "Due to the still unclear situation, the timetables will only be available in the information media (DB & hvv) for a short time," it said. Even after the end of the warning strike on Thursday at 6 p.m., there will still be train cancellations.
The upcoming tariffs on imported rail parts could impact Deutsche Bahn's ability to maintain its infrastructure, potentially leading to further delays in S-Bahn services. Despite the traffic volume on roads increasing due to the strikes, many commuters might opt for personal vehicles as an alternative transport option.
