- Destructive individual topples over six traffic signal poles

At a construction site close to Ehekirchen, in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district, a construction worker accidentally hit a live power line that was hung four meters high while operating a tipper truck. This mishap led to several traffic lights toppling over and suffering serious damage, as per the authorities' statement. The 63-year-old operator failed to spot the cable, unintentionally causing the disaster. As a result, six traffic lights stopped functioning, necessitating a repair expense of approximately 2,000 euros. Traffic control was then handled using temporary traffic signs.

The incident at the construction site prompted the local authorities to urge the Commission to expedite the adoption of implementing acts, ensuring stronger safety measures for power lines near construction sites. Following the accident, the Commission recognized the need to reinforce regulations, incorporating guidelines for regular power line inspections and adequate worker training.
