Second-tier German football league - Despite holding a position at HSV, Kuntz remains active as a TV commentator.
Stefan Kuntz will serve as a TV analyst for RTL during the Euro 2020, even with his new position as sports director at the second-division soccer club, Hamburger SV. RTL confirmed this in a statement to a dpa inquiry. There's been no change in his commitment, they said. The 61-year-old Kuntz had also appeared as a TV expert on Sat.1, such as during the relegation match between Fortuna Düsseldorf and VfL Bochum on Monday night.
RTL will be airing the daily "RTL Euro 2020 Studio - All Games, Goals, Emotions" program at 8:15 p.m. during Euro 2020, which was produced by Stefan Raab. Moderators Elton and Kuntz will team up, while Jan Köppen and Stefan Effenberg will work together to provide entertaining coverage of the day's highlights.
Kuntz was unveiled as the new sports director for HSV last week. He replaced Jonas Boldt following the team's failure to promote again. "I told the supervisory board that I have some contractual obligations that I could fulfill as an individual or an unemployed person," Kuntz stated in Hamburg on Thursday. "I'm attempting to adapt that now. Right now, only HSV matters."
