Department store and amusement arcade burnt down: Firefighter injured

Huge flames burst out of a department store on the outskirts of Heiligenhafen. The fire department arrives with a large contingent. Nevertheless, it takes over six hours to extinguish the flames.

Fires - Department store and amusement arcade burnt down: Firefighter injured

A building complex with a department store and an amusement arcade burned down completely on Friday evening in Heiligenhafen (Ostholstein district). When the fire department arrived, there were no more people in the building, a fire department spokesman said on Saturday. One firefighter had slightly injured his foot. No one else was injured.

The complex was on fire. Around 140 firefighters were deployed. It took them more than six hours to extinguish the flames. The incident commander at the scene told the newspaper "Lübecker Nachrichten" that part of the warehouse was full of fireworks. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage were initially unclear.

Fortunately, no one else was injured aside from one firefighter who sustained a minor foot injury.
