DEL season starts with two derbies

The DEL starts its new season on September 19. The season opener is a Bavarian duel. Munich starts with three away games.

Ice hockey - DEL season starts with two derbies

The German Ice Hockey League begins on September 19 with a Bavarian clash to mark its 31st season. For the season opener, the Augsburger Panther will face off against ERC Ingolstadt. "I'm excited that we'll experience many emotions right from the start of the new season," commented DEL business manager Gernot Tripcke upon the release of the new schedule.

The following day sees the remaining games of the first matchday take place. Title defenders Eisbären Berlin will face the Cologne Sharks. Additionally, there are two derbies on the first matchday: Mannheim vs. Schwenningen and Bremerhaven vs. Wolfsburg.

EHC Red Bull Munich starts the season with three away games and plays its first home game on October 2, 2023, in the new SAP Garden against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg. On January 4, 2024, an open-air event is scheduled at the Frankfurt Football Stadium: The home team, the Lions, will face off against the Adler Mannheim. The playoffs begin on March 9, 2025.

The Augsburger Panther, participating in the German Ice Hockey League, have ERC Ingolstadt as their opponents for the season opener. The DEL business manager Gernot Tripcke, expressing excitement, mentioned that many emotions will be experienced from the start of the new season. Located in Neuss, the DEL team Cologne Sharks will face the title defenders Eisbären Berlin during the upcoming matches.
