Deflagration while refilling ethanol: woman seriously injured
A 39-year-old woman has been seriously injured in a deflagration in her Munich apartment. The woman had refilled an ethanol stove, which led to the fire and deflagration for reasons that were initially unclear, a police spokesperson said on Tuesday. Several people who were also in the apartment looked after the 39-year-old woman. She was taken to hospital with extensive burns after the incident on Saturday.
The damage caused by the deflagration is estimated at around 50,000 euros. The police would like to point out that ethanol stoves should not be refilled while in use. Care should also be taken not to place any flammable objects next to the stoves.
Due to the deflagration, emergency services were promptly called to the upper-floor apartment in Munich, a city in Upper Bavaria. To prevent similar fires and emergencies, it's strongly advised to refrain from refilling ethanol stoves during use and keep flammable objects at a safe distance.
