The Local Justice Authority in Dessau Intercepted a Prison Escape Attempt. The 29-year-old convict, serving time for crimes like theft, was being taken to Dessau for a hearing. As he stepped out of the prisoner transport van, he made a break for it. His attempt to bolt was short-lived, though, as authorities caught him within a few meters. According to reports, the convicted man put up a strong struggle. Slight injuries were sustained by the 29-year-old during the scuffle. The trial at the Regional Court continued as planned.

The convict expressed his desire for a trial review at The Court of Justice, citing the incident during transport. Despite the incident, the court upheld the original sentence.
