Traffic accidents - Defective technology? Heavy goods transport lands in embankment

A heavy goods vehicle left the road in Lower Bavaria on the Autobahn 3 towards Austria and ended up on the embankment. The trailer of the vehicle was loaded with a transformer and swerved to the right between the Iggensbach and Garham junctions due to a technical defect, the traffic police in Passau reported on Wednesday. The vehicle then got stuck in the embankment and now has to be recovered.

This work could continue into the afternoon. The police did not rule out a temporary full closure of the A3 towards the Suben state border. The 45-year-old driver was not injured. Investigators estimate the damage to be at least 20,000 euros.
