Traffic - Defective signal box: train cancellations on the Basel-Berlin ICE line
Due to a signal box fault in the Hanover area, long-distance trains on the Berlin-Basel ICE line have been canceled on part of the route. The fault is expected to be rectified by Friday, as announced by Deutsche Bahn on its website. The faulty signal box is only affecting the ICE line between Basel and Berlin, a Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman said on Wednesday. Trains are canceled in both directions between Berlin and Frankfurt am Main.
Travelers between Berlin and Frankfurt am Main are advised to use long-distance trains via Erfurt. Alternatively, there are also connections with a change in Hanover. If you want to take the ICE to Kassel or Göttingen from Frankfurt am Main, you should use the remaining ICE trains to Hamburg.
