"The boss - power is female" - Deep Dive with Simone Menne: How to network properly

Without networking, many career ladders would never have been climbed - but an incredible number of people are rather uncomfortable with the subject. They don't know how to build up a proper network and how best to approach people who could be important contacts in their day-to-day work. That's why the podcast editors at "The Boss" keep getting letters from listeners asking specifically how they can best approach the topic of networking and what is important.

Networking is one of "Die Boss" host Simone Menne's greatest strengths - she is frequently booked as a keynote speaker to share her wealth of experience - in the current episode, she talks about which networks are particularly important to her and when she urgently needed one. In the podcast, she says: "Until I became a board member, I didn't really have an official network either." Over the course of her career, however, it has become very clear how important networks are. And for those who are just starting to build a network, Simone Menne has a piece of advice: "I always find it interesting to ask yourself whether you already have a network that perhaps doesn't call itself that?"

In the latest episode, Simone Menne reveals what networking is all about - in real life and on social media - what she thinks of women's networks and what she advises people who don't have the confidence to approach new contacts openly.

In "Die Boss - Macht ist weiblich", top women talk amongst themselves: host and multi-supervisory board member Simone Menne (BMW, Deutsche Post DHL, Henkel, among others) meets female bosses from all areas of society to talk to them about their lives and careers. "Die Boss" is published fortnightly every Wednesday on stern.de and stern 's YouTube channel as well as on RTL+ and all popular podcast platforms.
