Nearly three-quarters of all exports went to countries within the European Union. The top four destinations were Poland (706 million euros), the Netherlands (539), the Czech Republic (419), and France (417). When it comes to non-European countries, the United States received the most exports (217), followed by China (182).

Despite the decrease in shipments from Saxony-Anhalt in international commerce, the region still contributes significant statistics to foreign trade, particularly with the United States and China. To boost exports beyond these non-European nations, efforts to strengthen Saxony-Anhalt's partnerships in the global market, such as in Austria (which only received 88 million euros in exports), could be beneficial for the region's overall foreign trade figures.
