- Decrease in Gasoline Costs Reaches Yearly Minimum - cheaper diesel as well.
Fuel costs have hit their least expensive point for the year. Motorists are currently shelling out an average of 1.715 euros per liter of Super E10, representing a 1.8 cent decrease from the previous week. Prices last dropped this low on New Year's Eve.
Diesel too has seen a price decrease from last week: A liter now costs an average of 1.59 euros, a decrease of 1.3 cents, marking the cheapest price since June 2023.
The primary reasons behind the falling fuel prices are a reduction in crude oil prices and a stronger euro relative to the dollar. At present, a barrel of Brent crude oil is priced around 77 US dollars. Meanwhile, the euro is reaching its annual high of 1.11 US dollars.
The ADAC advises motorists to fill up their tanks in the evening, specifically between 19:00 and 20:00 and 21:00 and 22:00. Prices during these hours are about 6 to 7 cents cheaper than during the mornings around 7:00. Service stations along motorways are typically pricey: An ADAC survey reveals that fuel prices at such stations are approximately 40 cents more per liter than away from the motorway.
The current average price of Super E10 is the lowest it's been since New Year's Eve, costing motorists 1.715 euros per liter. Consumers may find relief at the pumps due to the decrease in crude oil prices and the stronger euro.
