In 2022, Lower Saxony witnessed an increase in ATM thefts. However, this trend is predicted to decline in the future.

Illegal activities take place. - Decrease in ATM explosions in Lower Saxony

In Lower Saxony, the number of ATMs that were blown up has dropped once more. According to a report in "Nordwest-Zeitung" on Monday, statistics from the state's Interior Ministry show that out of 18 incidents in the previous financial year, only 9 resulted in ATM explosions. This achievement, says Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD), is due to the great work by law enforcement agencies and more efficient security measures.
