Parliament - Debates on solar energy and media politician Raab
The Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament will debate the expansion of solar energy and the age limit for firefighters on Wednesday (from 2 p.m.).
In addition, the opposition AfD parliamentary group wants to push for the establishment of a committee of inquiry in the debate about media politician Heike Raab. The State Secretary was heavily criticized for a critical letter to SWR. She has since admitted mistakes and resigned from her positions on SWR committees.
Another item on the agenda will be the election of a new Vice-President of Parliament. According to the SPD parliamentary group, MP Kathrin Anklam-Trapp is to succeed Astrid Schmitt. The 64-year-old recently announced that she would be leaving parliament at the end of the year after more than 27 years. The Social Democrats also want to discuss developments in the AfD parliamentary group following the change in leadership.
