Debates about wolf and restaurant tax

How to deal with wolves will once again be a topic of discussion in the Lower Saxony state parliament on Friday (from 9.00 am). The AfD wants to know from the state government how the shooting of wolves should be made possible more quickly in certain cases. Environment Minister Christian Meyer had announced his intention to swiftly implement a proposal by Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke (both Greens) to make it easier to shoot wolves in Lower Saxony - preferably as early as 2024.

In a further question, the CDU wants to find out whether the state government is committed to maintaining the reduced tax rate on food in restaurants beyond the end of the year. The government recently wanted to wait for a tax estimate on the issue. This is now available.

The AfD is keen to understand if the state government has a plan to expedite wolf shootings in specific cases, as discussed in the Lower Saxony state parliament. Nevertheless, the CDU is also focusing on the parliament, inquiring about the state government's intentions to preserve the reduced tax rate for food in restaurants beyond December 31.
