Death toll reaches at least 30 in Northern Triangle due to prolonged heavy rainfall

These victims include two young'uns buried alive in a landslide at Soyapango—just a stone's throw from San Salvador, the capital.
Over 2,500 distressed residents of El Salvador had to high tail it from their homes to refugees' shelters.
Guatemala faces a similar predicament, with 10 deaths reported from heavy rainfall, and over 350 evacuees seeking refuge in shelters. The country’s National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) shared this information.
Their authorities also stated that almost 2,900 homes, 225 roads, and 27 schools suffered damage.
In Honduras, one unfortunate soul perished in the weather, as per the report from their Permanent Contingencies Committee (Copeco), and over 1,200 people had been evacuated.
These intense showers were anticipated to carry on threatening the trio of countries this coming Friday.
