- Deadly Stabbing Incident – Previously Sought Safety Measures?

Following the tragic demise of a 28-year-old in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde, investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing. Law enforcement and the prosecutor's office suspect that her former partner, a 45-year-old Turkish man, perpetrated the heinous act of stabbing her to death. He is currently in police custody, with no statements made regarding the allegations.

As per reports from "B.Z." and "Berliner Zeitung", the victim had recently visited the family court to secure an order barring her ex-partner from approaching her. These measures are permissible under the Protection Against Violence Act, particularly in instances of domestic abuse. A court spokesperson chose to remain silent, citing the privacy associated with family matters.

The unfortunate incident occurred when the Greek woman was discovered severely injured in a multi-family building's stairwell late on a Friday evening. She succumbed to her wounds in the hospital afterwards, with the ex-partner reportedly having attacked her with a knife, inflicting numerous stab wounds.

Second Fatality in a Week

This heartbreaking occurrence marks the second within a week where a woman lost her life to a knife attack. In another part of Berlin-Zehlendorf, a 36-year-old woman was brutally murdered on a Wednesday evening. Her ex-husband was promptly apprehended. Initial investigations suggest that this is indeed a case of femicide, wherein women are targeted for their gender, often by their partners or former partners. In 2020, 155 women were reportedly slain by their partners or ex-partners, according to the Federal Criminal Police Office - a 22% increase over the previous year.

In another chilling knife attack on a woman in Berlin's Reinickendorf district on a Friday, law enforcement and the prosecutor's office suspect a different motive. A 38-year-old Ghanaian man is alleged to have attacked a woman in her apartment with a kitchen knife and attempted to choke her to death. However, her children managed to summon help, preventing further harm.

The woman had reportedly taken in her countryman just days prior. The 32-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and is currently in police custody, according to the prosecutor's office.

The 28-year-old's tragic death in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde has been linked to a knife attack, as investigations suggest her former partner perpetrated this heinous act. The recent family court visit by the victim was aimed at securing an order to prevent her ex-partner from approaching her, due to alleged domestic abuse.
