A 38-year-old Ghanaian man is alleged to have attacked a woman in her apartment with a kitchen knife and attempted to choke her to death. However, her children managed to summon help, preventing further harm.
The woman had reportedly taken in her countryman just days prior. The 32-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and is currently in police custody, according to the prosecutor's office.
