- Deadly shooting at the scrap yard in Hagen: Judgment awaited

At the Regional Court of Hagen, the verdict for the fatal shootings on a local scrapyard is set to be delivered on Friday (13:30). A 77-year-old man is on trial, accused of shooting his half-brother dead and injuring two others on January 19th of this year. The prosecution has sought a life sentence for murder and two counts of attempted murder.

An initial date for the verdict had been postponed due to a judge falling ill. The motive behind the shooting is believed to be a dispute within the family-owned scrapyard's management. The 54-year-old half-brother of the defendant died at the scene.

The defendant's trial was originally scheduled to be heard at the Court of First Instance, but it was transferred due to the severity of the charges. Following the deliberations at the Regional Court of Hagen, any potential appeals would be handled by the Court of First Instance.
