Dead person discovered in quarry pond in Karlsruhe district
A dead person was discovered on Saturday in a quarry pond near the town of Dettenheim in Baden-Württemberg, directly on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate. A police spokeswoman said that a corpse had been found and recovered from the lake. There are still no clues as to the identity of the person. However, there is currently no suspicion of a homicide, the spokeswoman added. The police were initially unable to provide any further details. The operation at the quarry pond was still ongoing on Saturday afternoon.
The local authorities have established an emergency hotline for any new information regarding the unidentified person found in the quarry pond. Due to the unusual circumstances, the area has been cordoned off as an emergency scene until further investigation.
