An illegal distillery in his garage has probably cost the life of a 64-year-old man in Sassenberg ( Warendorf district). The man was found dead in the garage of his house on November 28. The preliminary results of a post-mortem examination are now available, the police announced on Thursday evening. The cause of death is likely to have been an increased concentration of carbon monoxide caused by the improper handling of an illegal distillery. There were no indications of any outside culpability. The emergency services had pulled the man out of the garage because a CO2 alarm had sounded.
