Investigations - Dead man from Alt-Mölln: There is still no trace of the perpetrator
Almost a year ago, the body of a 35-year-old man was found on a plot of land in Alt-Mölln in the district of Herzogtum Lauenburg. But it is still unclear who killed him. "The investigation into the crime is still ongoing," said Jens Buscher, press spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Lübeck. "I am currently unable to estimate when a conclusion can be expected."
The body of the 35-year-old man from Ratzeburg was discovered on the grounds of a refugee shelter on December 12, 2022. Shortly afterwards, two men aged 20 and 36 were arrested under urgent suspicion. At the time, investigators had assumed that the perpetrator could have come from the family of the deceased.
"However, the suspicion against the two men could not be substantiated," said Buscher. "That's why the arrest warrants issued against them have since been lifted."
No other perpetrators have been identified since then, said Buscher. "But the investigation is of course continuing," he emphasized.

Despite the lack of evidence, the investigation into the criminal act in Lübeck's district of Herzogtum Lauenburg continues with determined efforts by the public prosecutor's office. The unsolved case of the deceased man from Ratzeburg has also attracted attention in Schleswig-Holstein, a neighboring state. Regrettably, the public prosecutor's office in Lübeck has yet to identify any other suspects involved in the crime.
