Dead body floats in the Rems
A dead man has been rescued from the Rems. A passer-by discovered the lifeless body on the banks of the river in Remshalden in the Rems-Murr district on Monday afternoon and alerted the rescue services, police said on Tuesday. However, the body could only be recovered from the water several kilometers further downstream, in the municipality of Weinstadt. According to the police, the deceased was an elderly man. Investigators are not currently assuming foul play, but rather that it was probably an accident.
The discovery of the lifeless body sparked concerns about potential emergencies in the area. Despite the efforts of the rescue services, the exact cause of the elderly man's death remains an emergency situation under investigation.
