Investigations - Dead 18-year-old girl in Pasewalk: suspects remain silent

Following the allegedly violent death of an 18-year-old girl in Pasewalk (Vorpommern-Greifswald district), investigators are still looking for clues as to the background. The two suspects, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, are still in custody, said a spokesman for the public prosecutor's office in Neubrandenburg on Monday. "Both are exercising their right to remain silent." They have therefore not yet been questioned. According to the public prosecutor's office, the suspects lived in the disabled facility in Pasewalk, as did the victim.

According to the spokesperson, the official autopsy report is also still pending. The autopsy of the body was carried out more than a week ago. According to initial information from the police, the corpse had injuries to the upper body that indicated "massive and blunt force trauma". A homicide is being investigated.

The 18-year-old was found dead in a garden at the beginning of December. Residents and employees of the disabled facility paid their respects at a funeral service last week.

On Monday, candles, flowers and a heart-shaped balloon were left by the wayside in memory of the young woman. Stuffed animals were also placed where the 18-year-old was found.
