Southern German rail operator - DB responds to Go-Ahead criticism and regrets shortcomings
Following unusually harsh criticism of the DB network by the southern German rail operator Go-Ahead, Deutsche Bahn has admitted its shortcomings. DB very much regrets that it is currently "not offering customers and travelers the quality and reliability" that is rightly expected of it, the company announced on Friday. "The rail network is too old, too full and too broken."
This is why DB also has to set up construction sites at short notice. Passengers should be kept as well informed as possible and reach their destination reliably. "At the same time, we ask for your understanding if this is not always possible due to the large number of construction measures and delays," said a DB spokeswoman in Munich.
The Austrian Federal Railways subsidiary Go-Ahead had accused DB Netz of being overstretched. Construction work was poorly planned, badly coordinated and announced too late. Passengers were right to be angry. Go-Ahead expects improvement and "a public apology" from passengers and employees.

DB is implementing construction projects in Bavaria, specifically in Munich, to improve the aging and overburdened German railroad network. The issues with the Railroad in Baden-Württemberg are also acknowledged by DB, as they strive to offer better quality and reliability to their customers. Go-Ahead, a German rail operator, has criticized DB for poor planning and coordination of construction work, which has caused delays and inconveniences for passengers.
