Dax starts with minus
The German stock market also got off to a subdued start on the last day of the trading week. There is also unlikely to be any major impetus on the other side of the Atlantic. The day before, trading venues in the USA were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. On the most important shopping day of the year, "Black Friday", trading on the US stock exchanges is only shortened.
In the first few minutes of trading, the Dax fell by 0.04% to 15,988.03 points, after rising above the 16,000 mark for the first time since the end of August and closing just below it on Thursday. This indicates a weekly gain of around half a percent for the leading German index.
The MDax of medium-sized companies lost 0.07 percent to 26,084.11 points on Friday morning. The eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 stagnated at the previous day's level.
Despite the subdued start in the German stock market, the Dax managed to surpass the 16,000 mark for the first time since August, only to fall slightly back to 15,988.03 points. Investors might be closely watching major stock exchanges like the Stock exchange in this context, as shares of companies listed there, such as those on the MDAX, could be affected. For instance, the MDAX, which represents medium-sized German companies, saw a minimal decline on this day.
