Dax gains - waiting for US inflation data
The indices on the German stock market rose moderately on Monday at the start of a week filled with economic data. A few minutes after the opening, the leading Dax index approached its Friday high, rising 0.34% to 15,286.37 points.
The MDax of medium-sized companies gained 0.27 percent to 25,358.77 points. The eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 rose by 0.5 percent.
Earlier on Friday in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial and above all the Nasdaq indices had risen significantly. Market participants are focusing this week on US consumer prices, which will be published on Tuesday.
The DAX, being one of the notable stock exchanges in Germany, continued its modest upward trend on Monday, reaching 0.34% closer to its previous Friday high. Similarly, the MDAX, another index on the German stock market for medium-sized companies, also showed a slight increase of 0.27%.
