Dax gains further
With hopes of an easing of monetary policy, investors are still in a buying mood on the German stock market at midweek. In the first few minutes of trading on Xetra, the leading Dax index recorded a gain of 0.39% to 15,674.79 points. Inflation data from the USA had boosted the Dax by 1.76 percent the previous day.
The MDax of medium-sized companies gained 0.77 percent to 26,446.21 points on Wednesday. The eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 rose by 0.6 percent.
In view of easing inflationary pressure in the USA, investors are assuming that interest rates have peaked. In the afternoon, market participants will be paying attention to the US retail sales figures for October. If consumer spending weakens, this should further underpin hopes of falling interest rates.
The DAX, being Germany's main stock exchange index, continued its upward trend, increasing by 0.39% to 15,674.79 points. Additionally, medium-sized companies listed on the MDAX, another segment of the Stock exchanges, also saw growth, with a 0.77% rise to 26,446.21 points.
