Darmstadt's Schuhen complains about refereeing decisions

Following the defeat against Bochum, Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen complained about what he described as a "crystal-clear mistake" by referee Marco Fritz. The 30-year-old was referring to a scene in the 2-1 defeat against VfL on Friday evening in which the cautioned visitors' captain Anthony Losilla was not shown a yellow card. Losilla had kicked the ball away after a foul and thus delayed the game. "Clearly because Losilla has been around for a long time, he's a fox," said Schuhen on the streaming service DAZN.

The referees in the Bundesliga put the Lilies at a disadvantage on several occasions, Schuhen criticized. "It gets on your nerves, week after week." In Schuhen's opinion, a handball should also have been whistled before Harry Kane's dream goal from 55 meters almost a week ago at FC Bayern (0:8). "The most important thing is that we don't make ourselves smaller than we are," said the goalkeeper and spoke of "questionable decisions against us".

His team-mate, captain Fabian Holland, had been shown the red card against Bochum in the 70th minute for an emergency brake. If VfL had also been sent off, "then the Bölle would be on fire here," said Schuhen, referring to the mood of the home fans in the Böllenfalltor stadium.

Darmstadt 98's goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen expressed his concerns about refereeing decisions in the Bundesliga, particularly mentioning a non-call on VfL Bochum's captain Anthony Losilla during their recent match. Schuhen's team also felt unsettled by several calls in previous matches, including a potential handball leading to Harry Kane's goal against FC Bayern.
